Honda to Recall About 300,000 Accords in U.S. for Air-Bag Fault
It seems like automakers try to avoid at any cost technical scandals and several of them aren't afraid to recall their cars to fix certain drawbacks they detected after having started to trade the cars.
As thus Honda Motor Co. said it will recall 303,904 Accords in the U.S. to fix a flaw that could lead to side-door airbags deploying even if the vehicles are not in a crash.
After having received a certain number of injury reports, the company concluded that it's better to recall the concerbed vehicles to fix the problem with airbags. Airbags in 2008-09 model year Accord sedans may inadvertently deploy if the ignition is on and a door is slammed, or if there's a significant impact to the lower body of the car, Honda said in a statement.
Honda will upgrade software to fix the Accord airbag glitch, which it said is not a hardware or supplier issue.
